P/HD & DCD Community of Practice Meeting - Marshall

Presenters: Chris Kuehl, Specialist of Physical/Health Disabilities-SWWC SC & Abby Thomson, Sped Teacher (DCD)-Hutchinson Public Schools.
Discussion on how to train paraprofessionals to use AT with students, assistive technology ideas (follow-up from November gathering) and networking/collaborating opportunities will make up the day! The goals for the day are:
- To increase students with disabilities participation opportunities in the classroom.
- To give teachers an opportunity to share great ideas with each other.
- To learn about innovative technologies to support teachers and students with disabilities.
- To learn how to teach paraprofessionals how to use AT with students.
*Participants should be prepared to share a curriculum idea, technology support or a highlight of your year for our networking portion of the day. Please bring your own device: laptop and/or tablet as well.
Target Audience: Special education staff (teachers/related service providers) who work with students in the disability categories of Physical and Helath Disabilities, Developmentally Cognitively Delayed or Servere Multiply Impaired.
